    R.S. IAB and Wernstein IAB

    Hi
i have 2 nice looking IAB in my collection recently and i have compared it with some of the IABs here on the forum.
first one is a R.S. IAB in silver and weights 36 gr with a repaired catch, but i have my toughts about the catch, is this a R.S. typical catch? I saw some R.S. catches on some PAB's and was wondering if this catch is still a good one.
next thing about this IAB is the space between the swastika and the k98. I have never seen one like this before, maybe anyone can help me out?

    2nd IAB
i think a bronze IAB weights 21 gr with Wernstein marker and repaired catch
the thing whats bothering me is the little spot on in the middle on the bottom. it looks like a drop of tin or something?
My opinion is these are some nice IAB's but thesedays you can never be sure, so it would be great if you guys can give me your opinion about the IAB's?

You´ll have to be an Association Member to be able to post pics. The $25 fee is a good investment IMO.

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

When it's white it could be 'zinc pest', can't see it too well on this pic.

                    Ciao

its not white, its the same as the catch, kind of tin colour
there is maybe some zinkpest under the k98bajonet?
any ideas to stop it or get it off?

The spot on pic #9 in my opinion is solder from the reverse that ran when they affixed the catch. It ran and ended up beading and hardening on the obverse.More then likely it held its finish better then the bare zinc of the badge. It is not that uncommon to see this happen when a large amount of solder is used rather then a catcj plate on a zinc badge...I have an FLL that has this same problem. Just my opinion .
