hcliffe, that is a good AS IAB too bad it is missing most of the finish on the front But I have seen that a lot with AS-IAB's in silver. But the back is very MINT !

          Harry,
I find the unfinsihed sc Wernstein quite intresting. In another thread you alluded to the fact this was a vet pick-up. Did I understand you in saying that you were going to try and find out where he obtained it? That being the city or general location?

I'm not sure the AS ever had a nice bright finish, but others probably know for sure.

Chet: yes, I am trying to find out more about the unfinished badge. When I bought it, I asked the seller about it. I swear he told me he got it from the factory worker who brought it home. I called the seller last night and he now tells me he got it from a friend who bought it from the daughter of the factory worker.

He is going to ask his friend if he has the phone number of the daughter. We'll see, but does not sound like a good lead.

I saw Harry's AS IAB at the show and it has zero finish on the front but the reverse is perfect. I have a vet acquired AS IAB in exact same condition.

I am not exactly sure why they would have finished the reverse but not the front. Perhaps it was not finished so as to have a subdued effect while on the battlefield.

You never know. You may get very lucky and solve one of our great mysteries! Good luck to you.
