    Unmarked PAB Opinions

    Hello Panzertruppen,

I have looked high and low to find an example of this either in this forum, or in the fakes gallery and couldn't (or missed it). I've not seen this type of extreme swedging before on a PAB. I don't see anything that causes me to question its authenticity (although I seem to remember a couple of discussions regarding this style of eagle's head [can't remember if it was good or bad]). Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

    Best regards!!

    Bob

                  Hey, whoa ! that's mine...

Actually this is a SC-S&L unmarked PAB.
The last I heard there was discussion about this being possibly an early Zimmerman badge and/or S&L.
I'm a helmet collector and plan to stay one.

Philippe, you have helped me on this before, what are these going for now, send me a PM please. I'll trade it for your black M35.

here is another picture next to a SS market-garden pick up...

                    HI Ty Smith,
I’m 100% positive that this PAB was not made by S&L or Zimmerman. We are talking here about absolutely different designs. If I would have to guess I would rather go with Wurster link, because it looks like the same guy who designed the Wurster die, was involved with die design for oval crimps as well, but it is a guess only…

                      Hi Robert,

I just found an old post of my badge from back in 2003. Philippe called it a "sc S&L". My badge knowledge is limited but I thought I remembered this badge had an unusual or unknown maker and thought Zimmermann had something to do with it.

Here is the link from 2003..

                        hi Mr. Smith

Robert is right. Now, SC S&L is another design.

                          Dear Ty Smith,
I will leave the explanation honors to Philippe......
Just kidding, as Indy said, the progress has been made and the old S&L theory was revised...

                            Hi Indy,

I'm a little lost... Do you mean this badge is referred to differently, no longer called a sc S&L. Certainly the design hasn't changed...

Does anyone know who made it ?

                            thanks much,
                            Ty
