    Assmann marked insignia

Thought folks might like seeing a piece of US post WWII (obviously) insignia that bears the Assmann logo. In addition to insignia, I have also seen US brass belt buckles that bear the Assmann logo.

This piece came from a vet lot. I do know that the vet served w/ the 3rd Armored Div in Germany in the late 50's.

          Calvin,
The emblem might be the Unit Crest from the 36th INF, they were part of the 3rd Armored Division. They had three battalions of the 36th INF and each use the same emblem with a few minor differance between them. I know that 3rd Bn 36th INF crest was green not blue.
