    PAB miracle..I hope

I have been put on an allowance until Stuttgart...which is a good thing unless you love the German flea markets every weekend. Which of course I do. So today I was underwhelmed when I took my 20 Euros and what ever change I could smuggle out of the car and off I went to two different markets .

Well the first market had some artillery shells and since I love trench art I almost blew it all right there but for some reason I decided to save it for the second market. The second market stunk except for one table where the seller was actually wearing a nice WWII breadbag and giving change from it, I wanted it so I went over. On the table he had a few books, one about the Panzers in the Balkans and then there it was. Just sitting in a little box was an Ost medal packet and sticking out underneath was the PAB. But I had no money . I asked how much just for the heck of it and I won't say what the answer was because I don't want any of you guys to have a heart attack. But lets just say the Ost medal and PAB are now mine and I only owe my wife a couple of Euro and a back rub.

A long story, I'm sorry but now I hope this will get the thumbs up all around.

                round S?

It's hard for me to tell, is that a round 'S' or with the straight 'S'?

Anyone know if the obverse is different for either maker's mark?

It was brought to my attention once, but most of these surviving RS have very little finish left. I have one with a decent finish...any others with a nice finish remaining?

                  Greg,
It's little finds like this that bring a smile to ones face. Good for you

                      Hi Greg,

Nice catch, sometime you just need a little luck in this hobby

@Tony no there aren't any differences in design, all RS's PAb will look exactly the same down to the little die flaw in the lower right wing.

Your correct on the finish, apart from the broad pin versions they all received a very poor finish that by now on 95% is all but gone.

Every once in awhile the collecting gods just smile. Great bargain!
