Not exactly ak, we know BH mayer and F&R shared the same design this isn't the case however with any of the example you mentioned above. A big difference IMO.

On the other hand I agree, the L/18 marks don't make any sense for the simple reason that BM production would long have been extinct by the time this type of marks was used.

Philippe and Andreas - great input guys. For me this is a very interesting thread.

I just need the following clarifying from what has already been said please.

      Andreas, you mentioned

"To the oak leaf: we can find the different oak leaf only between the hollow and massive IAB, perhaps another die is the reason. Look at the Ernst Müller IAB and their different oak leaf design."

Do you agree that this is not correct for the IAB Philippe posted in post #13.
That IAB is a massive unmarked F&R that has an oak leaf that is different from the usual massive F&R.

      regards

      Graeme

        Graeme,

dammit you are correct Post #13 shows the oak leaf i expected only on hollow F&R badges. I'll post the badges i mean later and show some close ups with the similarities beetwen marked, unmarked, hollow and massive F&R badges.

Well as far As I'm concerned this is one and the same badge with a different set-up just like we find them on the PAB's.

What would link these badges to F&R?

The only marked F&R IAB's clearly came out of another die (cfr. oakleave differences).
