Very nice find

Clearly zinc, and you can see the round plate under the catch.

Any plate under the hinge. It would be nice to have a couple of different pics. Looks like a "messy" area around the hinge..Do you think there has been a repair? Difficult to see from the pics.

sorry i only have a scanner for my pics, so this is the only picture angle i can show. You are right it seems that the upper part was resoldered.

But i can provide you with another interesting detail because it seems that all Porsche IABs have the same flaw at the right wing:

1. zinc Porsche - head without damage

Great pics of the details.

I notice your bronze also has a small line on the left wing that my porsche IABs have. Mine also have a couple of lines on the rifle butt and sling. Do any of yours?

you are right there is another wing flaw an the left side and a flaw on the rifle butt, too. I'll show some details of them tommorrow.
