Now you really don******180;t see a lot of these Fank & Reif badges around.

Graeme, I would agree that yours is an excellent bronze grade. Lovely badge.

Thanks for the replies and nice comments guys.

Philippe, Skip, yes I had not picked up on the bronze hardware and tend to agree with you. If it is/was bronze then I am happy with that. I think the reason I was thinking silver is the zinc is a very silver grey and I have seen several F&R PABs with bronze hardware. See the pic below. Just had a closer look at the badge and the only finish left is a tiny bronze looking patch on the catch plate. But still not 100% sure

Phil, If there is any finish left on the obverse of yours can you post a pic, because all the marked ones in this thread are lacking finish.

Sven, nice badges. I notice your second one has a little "bump"on the rifle butt, mine has that also.

Spike, you got the biggest one !! Yeah right...keep dreaming !

          Hi Graeme,

Good point about the silver ones with bronze set-up, thesecertainly exist like you picture proofs. However look at the tome of the base metal were the finish is gone that is not the dark brown of your badge but more dark gray.

Here is the obverse of my example with all the finish gone.
