Does anyone have one of these badges I can buy?
    Eric
    I once flew in a B-17, B-24, & a B-25. Next, I want to fire an 88 round.

sorry to bring an old thread back up to the top but some of the guys interested in flaks might find this interesting, at least if there still is any controversy over these grey backed badges this may help.........

Very Interesting? What's the story with this badge?

I agree, great find Patrick! Have any of these eagles been found marked?

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

The one thing I notice between this badge and the Heer Flak Badge is that the badges did not hold there finish at all. It is completely lsot its finsh due to the Zinc. No finish at all.

                    The plot thickens!

the plot thickens further! look at Kai Winklers site History shop.de. There is a silver Potsdam badge made by Hofstatter which has the same painted grey reverse finish, under awards of NSDAP. Sorry I tried to copy the pics but wont let me. Not a maker of war badges that I am aware of!

Just catching up with some of the threads I missed. This new info is VERY interesting. Plus I was sent pictures of how a hoard of these badges were found. I spoke to Frank and he thinks they are authentic. Do we know anything else about this manufacturer?

Here is a carton from the hoard find. Each one held 10 of the gray backs. The more I study them and in conjunction with this carton the more I am inclined to think they are original.

I would appreciate if anyone owns one to contact me so I can study it further. Thanks
