    Reference Book(s)

    Hello all,
I wondering what are the best reference book(s) out there in regards to German Badges - Heer, Luftwaffe, etc. . Something that deals obviously with construction methods maybe comparision photographs of real vs fake etc. and maybe a price guide though this is not as important as a book that helps distingquish between real/fake.

Any information would be great and if possible maybe a book ISBN number. I would like to buy a book or two to help farmilarize myself with German Badges. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Start with the initial book on the GAB, then wait for (and get) the others in this series

Thanks for the link Greg I appreciate it. Do you happen to know how many volumes there are in this series?

I would not bother with any price guides....

Start looking at a few dealer sites and the estand on this forum for a few weeks at the badges that you are interested in. That way you will get a feel for what sells and what doesn't.

Frank's books have been mentioned, his web site should answer all your questions relating to the series.

Michael Tuckers book is a decent book for a "mix" of badges and probably a good starter book to get the interest up...

check out his site for details

          agree with Graeme

Tucker's book is pretty good for the starter although there are some mistakes. Reading threads in badge forums would help as well... Now, badge forum is separated into 3 directions....German Army, Navy, and air force. It would be easier for people to read what they are interested in. Have fun reading and discussing badges in the badge forums.
