          Billybob,

You will get mixed feedback on this TDB. Some folks say that it is good and some say that it is a reproduction. If you check "Tank Killers" by Thomas Breyette you will find that it is not considered "text book". That is due to the tank being too large and the black stripe running the wrong way. I suggest that you do a search on the forum and read what is posted. That way you can decide on your own.

          Phil

This appears to be one of the "Austrian" repro TDBs that came into shows by the boxful in the very late 70's. There was no good reference book for collectors to check them against and they sold like hotcakes. Typically they have either fieldgrey or Luft grey wool backing.

I will support Tim's opinion. Tank size and the reverse give this one away.
              Cheers, Frank

                I agree, a fake.
I hhad shown this type in an older thread together with some originals.

Am I wrong in assuming that three and a half track links between the last roller and the drive weele at the end of the tank is a red flag. Shouldn´t it be four.

Your two biggest red flags are the wrong proportion of the tank to the space between the black borders and the black borders having threads running in the wrong direction.

I would not be surprised to find that under the black finish, the tank has a copperish finish unlike originals.

Thanks Guys, I wasnt too happy comparing this one, tank size or space between borders, direction of thread run, tank is not magnetic dont know if thats a flag or not but I think we have covered all the bases and I agree with your conclusions of FAKE! thanks, bb
