If so, we usually like to see a few other examples before accepting this as gospel. Or the experts do anyway.
The L/10 association was also used in this thread because of the marked IAB. After seeing the hinge on that IAB I do not think this badge comes into the equation.

So for me, currently there is no more hard proof other than the L/10 maker mark on that single flat back PAB.

The only other conclusion we can make is that the two near identically marked hinges were probably made by the same company.
    Hi Graeme,
Let's not forget about finish marks on both L/10 marked PAB and L/10 marked IAB's...looks like a good connection point to me as well...

      Robert,

i agree with you on the finish marks but lets not forget that the L/10 mm´s on the Flatback and IAB are 2 completely different types and the hinges are also different types. My own L/10 IAB has a another variant of hinge.

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

        Hans,
very good points. But let's go back for the moment to the L/10 marked PAB. I performed very careful examination of the maker mark (under the very high magnification as well) and I'm 100% positive that maker mark is genuine to the badge. I also strongly believe that there is more L/10 marked PAb's in collections. The only problem is these PAB's just the few years ago were recognized as a fakes, so people didn't pay too much attention to them...Anyhow, for now this type of PAB's in my eyes is made by Deschler. I just don't see any reasons why i should not accept evidence in my hands. At the same moment i'm very open to other conclusions. Only cooperating together we can workout some solutions (answers) to our questions. Just 24 hrs ago we didn’t even talk about these marked hinges…

          Dear Robert,

i agree with you in what your saying. I also think that the L/10 mm looks good from where i am sitting but (there is always a but) why use different mm´s for the IAB and the PAB.

To my knowledge the same mm´s where in use by the other manufacturers, i can´t come up with one maker so far that used 2 different mm´s for their PAB´s, IAB´s etc.

It very confusing to say the least and leaves us with more questions unanswered so far.
          Regards
          Hans N

            Dear Hans,
L/10 maker mark on the IAB was made by use of the reverse die (I don’t have this badge in my collection, so I’m using pictures only, please let me know if my assumptions are wrong). L/10 maker mark on the PAB was made by use of “punching tool”. Of course 2 different methods will create some differences, but “punching tool” method is much cheaper, because this tool eliminates extra work for addition of the maker mark to the reverse die. Besides the reverse dies on the flat back badges was a joke anyway, because they are flat.
Different maker marks are not that rare for the same manufacturers. For example A.S. and .A.S or BSW and Bruder Schneider A.G. Wien…

Well Robert you got me there, i stand corrected. I totally forgot the mm´s of those you stated.
