PAB 25 Bronze - real or fake?

    Hello fellows,

I'm able to buy this one from an older collector, but I'm not sure with it.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks!

    Best wishes

            Hi Joerg,

I admit that don't have a lot of experience with these rivetted PAB's but based upon what I can observe it like it a lot. It's also very interesting to see how well camouflaged the left rivet is. Obscured by the finish it's alsmost invisible the right one also seems to have been covered with finis at some stage. This is rather uncommon most of the time these rivets shine bright which would indicated that the panzer was attached to the wreath after both parts were already finished.

              Dear J******246;rg,

Although it seems to be fine, I have some doubts and the badge should be scrutinized with better pics or in hand. Judging by your pics, the detail is not what it should be. The white metal coming through on the wooden logs seems to be too shiny and the way the finish peeled of in that area (borders of white metal to solid finish) looks odd and "chipped", not the way one would expect it.
The patina in the lower reverse wreath could be ok, but looks a bit suspicious as well. Although a kind of glossy color was used on some badges, the black color in number plate is too glossy for my taste, especially in combination with the rest of the badge which appears more weathered.
              Cheers, Frank

                Hello Frank,

what can we do to find it out 100% if it's okay or not?

                Best wishes

I think I will stay away from it. For a questionable piece, it's to expencive.

                    Thanks!
