    HB Tank Badge Identified

After the previous threads on AS and "W" Tank badges where hollow back ones were identified with there Zink counterparts, I have checked my collection and come up with another match.

This one is for the Frank & Reif solid Tank badges that we know of, here is a pic of an early Buntmetall Stamped one that matches there Zink one. They do exist in Bronze, and I have a Bronze one on the way.

Does anybody else have a Silver or Bronze one of these? if so, could you please post it .

    Any comments or observations welcome.

    Regards,

    Anthony

I do see some differences between the two on the obverse. The adlers heads appear to be different and there are differences on the tanks and the grassy area as well. Perhaps it's just my eyes or the photos?
      Best regards,

      Tony

IMO the eyes of the two eagles are different.

          differences

          Hello,

Nice badges but IMHO they are not matching => look for example at the eagle's head, these are different so this is a non matching pair IMHO

Thanks guys for your comments. I forgot to say when I posted the pics that on the HB badge the Eagles head is bent slightly backwards because the badge is a little more concave that the solid one, but it is the same, also one has a little more detail in the grass area.

              Matching Points.

              1 Eagles head.

              2 Swaz width.

3 Wheels, gun ports and the rock, notice the hole in it.

4 First tread or bar on the RHS bends to the left.

              5 Eagles feet, same position.

6 On each side of the Eagles feet there is a horizontal bar on both.

7 The large sprocket on the LHS touches the top wheel.

8 The last oakleaf at the top LHS curves into the Eagles body.

9 Chest feathers, and curvature of the Eagles legs, it is hard to explain what I mean here.

10 The fifth wheel on the RHS (TOP) has the same curve

11 The left track has the same ripple on the top.

              12 Eagles upper wing feathers.

If both had a bit more detail on the grass it would make it easier at first glance. You also have to take into account that one is stamped from brass sheeting, so some of the details are clearer, but for my eyes it's all there.

Both of them are very close to a AWS 1942 badge, but here the Eagles head is completely different as can be seen from the back profile.

Here is the picture, I put the wrong one in above. Here again the angle of the heads is slightly different, but at least a better view.
