    Interesting IAB

Has anyone ever run across a badge like this before? Very heavy, die struck with superb detail. High quality materials which appear to either be plated tombak, or copper clad alloy w/ a plating on it. Also, the catch opens opposite from the "normal" way

      Hi Andy,

I'm away from home so I can't perform a good comparison of the obverse (I'll see if I have any images with me later) but I have a zinc IAB with only traces of silver finish and the same hinge/hingeplate/catch/catchplate construction, including the pin opening the "other" way. If you examine the hingeplate carefully, you'll probably find that it is separate from the vertical hinge (very neatly soldered on). I have no problems with my example but couldn't sell it on the E-stand so maybe there's something I don't know!

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
