Based upon their construction technique, ageing, wear and set-up I like them very much.

Based on the pictures they look ok. I kinda like the first one more. The guilding to me looks better. Is there a possibility of seeing a full shot of both of them? I would like to see the knurling.

Andy, scanned images are always tricky, but I would be very concerned if it's in fact gilded .

                  Hi everybody,

                  thanks so far !!!
I´ll try to make pics with both together soon.
But the pics I posted are not scanned.
I´ve taken them outdoor on a very bright and sunshiny day.

                  Cheers,

                    Hi Peter,
If its an early variety, would there be a problem with it? I may have mis-spoken on using the word guilding, but were they not at least painted gold?
I'm glad you chimed in Peter, its always good to get your input.

                      Hi Andy,

You have sharper eyes than I and you just brought my attention to something odd . On the first badge the wreath is painted with what appears to be some goldish colour (clearly visible on the inner left wreath). It might be an illusion due to the scan and perhaps it's silver, which would be correct for this badge. What's odd though is that the cannon hasn't been painted, leaving a darker nuance. That wouldn't fit any purpose, hence the badge should be in silver. This might not be of any importance, it's merely an observation
