Very sorry about your loss. Good ol' honest public "servents" huh? Most likely NOTHING will come of it. These are not only FEDERAL employees, but UNION as well. I'm not dissing the Union (IBU/ILWU myself), but seems that dirtbags are the ones who normally get the most protection - doesn't matter what Union your talking about.

My experience has been just the opposite. I've never had a problem shipping with USPS. From Russia to Brazil - it's worked ok for me and the customer. On the flip side, I've been very disappointed with the snobbery of the counter personnel at the local UPS and FedEx places - seemed to me they couldn't get out of their own way. I don't need to mention the price difference.
No matter what method of shipment you use, any one who handles the package along it's journey can slice it open and pocket the contents.

postage in the usa
i hear a lot of unfair complaints about US postal system...cant see the problem as have posted over 2000 plus parcel with no insurance and registration to the usa with no problems ever, not to metion getting many many 100's of parcels from the states and again no losses....i think one problem is people over insuring, now thats asking for problems. But German post workers are the biggest thieves i have encountered, (i have lost countless registered envelopes.), not to mention their charges....so guy dont complain too much is you are going to insure for full value you stand to lose it.

I actually work for the Royal Mail and i can assure you that every postal worker that i know is straight down the middle, honest and reliable
It disgusts us as much as the person in the street when someone within RM is found guilty of tampering with the mail The postal service, as with any large organisation will always have its bad apples, it's just up to us to jump on the bastards.

I hear your words bigD but I had a Royal Flying Corps badge disappear without trace and a signed picture of Ernst Barkmann that was sent by to me by a mate in Glasgow and never arrived - efforts to trace it got nowhere.
There are other examples so suffice to say, I would never criticise all at Royal Mail but if it's worth more than £1.25 I register it every time.
