    Thanks Robert. Well probably somekind of malfunction but it makes me wonder how you could solder the upper part of a hinge while the lower part was firmly crimped in to place. Not an easy thing to do I guess.

    But then again how did this crimping work anyway. Did these badges come out of the die with the set-up in place already

      ......that's a good question. I think that they did come out of the die with the crimping 'pillows' already in place. It seems to me that it would be awkward to try and attach something like that at a later time in the process......how would it be done, I wonder?

        From my understanding crimps around the hinge and catch were made during the final formation process of the rear side. There are few methods how this could be easily accomplished. However I don’t want to guess. If someone knows for sure, please tell us.
