Bob, Great piece! I love the this design. The bird has that zany, crazy eyed, thousand yard stare look about him and just steeped in detail..... All the best.

          Hi Matthew,
Great comments mate ,really appreciate them, yes i love that eagle head too,it 's what makes this hobby so interesting, all these slightly different designs of the same subject is why most collectors are always cash poor
          All the best

Bob, sorry to say but I am quite certain this is a fake. Notice the 2 different tension foot marks on the reverse under the hinge. The catch isn't crimped in like it should be, its crudely soldered. And the base metal and finish are not consistent with wartime originals by MK. A nicely made fake IMO.

            Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Have to agree with Tom here. The catch and hinge are both not crimped, wrong pin and catch and the back is not what you would expect to see on a good M.K.7. Honestly this is made to fool collectors, a rather good copy.

Yep I saw that Bob, I was thinking it was a solder droplet from the catch soldering.
