    PAB50 JSF for your opinions

    Hello Collectors,

I found this one online, I know there are some VERY good fakes made. What is your opinion about this one ? I am not getting a warm or fuzzy feeling about this one, but I can't put my finger on the thing I don't like about it.

Would love to hear your guys opinions!

    Thanks!

Chris, that is a fake, don't bother with it.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hello Tom, I was thinking that as well. What are the biggest giveaways ? Crimping of the hardware ?

Also for me a dangerous fake. With these numbered pab's you always have to be very careful.
Beside some small differences in the hardware there are also many points on the obverse that determine this badge
as a reproduction. The detail is weak compared to originals, a good example of this is the claws of the bird, the head detail, leaves...
Another point is that the outer edge of the wings of the bird is wider than originals, a typical sign of casting.
And last but not least, also the basemetal looks wrong. It is too smooth for zinc.

This one also comes as a 25 variant, both good fakes that need to be approached with care.

These particular fakes have been around a long time and are often found in older collections.
