    My new PAB

Gents, I acquired this badge from a collector who is thinning out. I like the ball hinge and the maker mark appears to be A and an S in a triangle. I liked it..I would apprecaite your comments. Thanks Rich

    Hi Rich,

As you've mentioned you have a AS in triangle.
There has been speculation over the years that this maker mark possibly represented the concern of Adolph Scholze. However, after a pretty exhaustive search some years back it was determined the Adolph Scholze firm only used the initials A.S. on their products.

I like what I see on the reverse side of this PAB.
Do you think you could take some clearer shots of the obverse just to be sure?

      Hi Rich,

Nice original AS in Triangle, everything looks fine but as Bruce says some cleared pick would be better.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Rich,
I agree that it looks good so far but clearer pictures are needed for a final judgement. Oblique shots of the hinge and hook would be especially helpful as these are usually the most obvious giveaways on a repro.

The back of the medal looks great.. If I was to only see the front I would have a tough time differentiating originality.

It looks fine to me. And just to wake Bruce up a little in case he hasn’t had his coffee, I still believe this was made by the Adolph Scholze firm or some derivative of that company that originally used the AS not in a triangle logo.
