I see no issues with it apart from the fact that The pin looks like it has been sharpened and also the catch plate seems to have been soldered to reinforce but it could have been done both of them period
Thanks for that Tom -I know theres slight variations with many combat badge manufacturers of the same maker in terms of pins and hinges ect but thought Jiga made a valid point ,just not seen a catch like this on an EWE. Just goes to prove theres so much more to learn.
I see what you mean about the pin, it does look a bit thinner that what we usually see and the tip is shaped differently too. Maybe the pin is a replacement, hard to be sure from just these pics, can you post a few more closeups of the pin around the hinge area?
Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Here you go Tom hope these can help.
From my own observations the colour and wear of the pin appears to match that of the reverse & obverse of the badge- under closer examination.
The bend of the pin and also the tension foot shape look correct. But don't recall seeing that tool mark on the pin bend before on another EWE and it does appear there might be 2 indentions where the tension foot hits the back of the badge, they overlap eachother a little bit.
