Early zink A.S PAB's catch question

    Hello Guys,

I have the change to buy a early A.S bronze zinker (I already have a very nice silver one)
But I do have a concern about the bronze one. The shape of the catch looks different on the bronze one (looks more like a later version) then the silver one.

Does the bronze one have the correct catch ?

    Thanks alot!

    Chris

      Hi Chris,

I would not worry too much about the catch, that looks textbook!
That badge is in great condition, like so many others of these bronze grades.
Always be careful for repairs on these as they have a rather fragile set-up.. picture is a bit unclear.

Looks all fine, it`s not the known Steagemeir fake. Both very nice examples and their finish holds well over time.

Looks ok to me too Chris. Have to be careful with these but as Job says this is not the known Staegemeir fake and looks like a nice original with great finish and correct looking catch as far as I can see from these pics. Check the side of it for the shear marks.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I agree with all stated above, especially the advice to check for shear marks on the sides of the clasp. IMO these are by far the nicest of all Gablonz made PABs. Congratulations.
