    My New Hoarde!!!

    Hello all,

I'd like to say that I don't normally post in this forum as I've pretty much given up on collecting German for my native Polish.

I was on a short vacation last week and had the good fortune of being able to meet up with a very good veteran friend of mine. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend the whole day with him and throughout the course of the day he presented me with a shoe box. I opened it and almost fell over!!! I refused to take it all as a gift and gave him some money which he reluctantly accepted. Even after I had left him he lamented to some acquaintances about how he hated taking my money. At our parting he also mentioned how he had several daggers and helmets that he would send to me in the occasional parcel and again at our next meeting.

The marvelous thing about all of these items is that he personally liberated all of these items himself and he still recalls exactly when and where he got every piece. Needless to say that I am indebted to this man for eternity as he is truly one in a million.

Please feel free to comment. If anyone wants to see pictures of certain pieces then please feel free to ask. I will be posting some of the cloth bits and tinnies in their appropriate forums.

If I have posted this in the wrong forum then please excuse my mistake.

    Cheers,
    Greg

The next few shots will be just some closer shots of the various bits.

    Thanks,

                Hi Greg,

You are a very lucky man, this is a great collection of items!!

I would like to see good closeup shots of the Kriegs High seas fleet and Destroyer badges. Also, reverses of the IABs.

                Congrats!

                Tom D.
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                    Greg,

What can be said. What a great friend, and what a great assortment of 3R collectables. I would love to see close-ups of both Flak badges, and the Luft Ground Assault.

                    Again, congrats & thank you!

                          Hi Greg......

......what an astounding gift. Definitely, as you have said, one in a million.

I would appreciate close-ups of the finger ring at the far right. Thanks.

                            Thank you.

                            Hi chaps,

Thanks for all the replies. Indeed I am a lucky fellow to have met this kind and generous man. He truly is one in a million and he has become like an adoptive grandfather to me. In my heart he is a member of my family.

I will happily post all of the requested pieces but unfortunately it is clody and a tad rainy out today and my lighting indoors is horrendous for photo taking. I will snap all the bits tomm. if the sky breaks. All of the pieces will be posted in their respective forums so that they won't "mess up" this forum.

                            Thanks again,
                            Greg
