IAB, please help

For me it looks like it could be an original, but as you hinted the pics are not the best. The hardware set up looks period.
It certainly has what appears to be an added coating which gives it a strange glare. Check out the reverse in the swastika where it is very shiny except the bottom leg of the swastika with no added coating.
best regards

Hi Shaver,
I can only agree with Graeme, looks like a fine original Schickle IAB, with correct hardware setup. The badge may have had a clearcoat applied to it to help preserve it by the factory, or postwar by a collector or dealer. Being made of zink some people will add a protective coating on it to help preserve it.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

Hello Graeme, hello Tom!
Today the IAB arrived. The badge was thickly coated with clear varnish.
The space between the rifle and the swastika was completely covered and glued with this, but I was able to remove it. There's solder in the swastika
The IAB is now clean and very nice. Hope you like it like I do.
Thank you for your help!
Regards Shaver
