Silver solid zinc Porsche : It exists!

    Hi Guys,

Well recently I didn't have much luck finding missing pieces for my PAB collection but last Friday this all of a sudden changed. I can only image that the rest of you PAB maniacs were either a sleep, drunk, drunk and a sleep or on holiday.

Only two weeks ago I listed this PAB in my top ten of the rarest PAB's arround, well in fact at that time I never ever saw a silver grade and assumed it didn't exist.

After one week of impatient waiting it finally thundered through the door. And what a beauty it is. Apart from some thiny zinkrot spots and the typical solid zinc Porsche bubbling it's in perfect uncleaned condition.

Just like some of it's GAB brothers this PAB received a copper coating base finish that shines through a little on the wing tips and the breastfeathering.

Won't keep you waiting any longer here she is.

    KR
    Philippe

                              Hi Guys,

Glad you guys also like it. I'm just feeling very happy that I managed to add this lovely specimen to my little panzer division.

It's a wonderfull badge with a very high quality finish far superior to what you normally expect to see on zinc PAB's.

These massive zinc Porsches from a construction viewpoint are a match to the Cupal 3 layered Porsche. Both these variants differentiate themself from the rest of the production because they are complete flatbacks and because the Panzer itself doesn't really jump out of the wreath in fact it feels puched inwards a little. Very comparable to what you see on the early hollow and 43 marked FLL's. Furthermore both the Cupal and the solid zinkers share an angled pin sharpening that as far as I know is absolutely unique.

@Jeff, your correct, based upon everything I know now there is one badge missing to complete the most versatile of all PAB families the silver 3 layered Cupal variant.
