          Hi Mark,

I have never seen that type of Condor Legion Tank Badge. The details to the obverse do not match accepted examples. The badge reverse should not be solid; the hinge, pin and catch are not of the correct design and style for an original badge.

Sorry, but not much chance of it being pre 45, in my opinion.

          Mark

(Sorry to brag but...) Here is one of my latest acquisitions. It is a 'textbook' example. I've waited about 30 years, and it finally came along. Compare the two badges, you will see big differences.

            Hello Mr Miller,

The bagde which is shown is not a full size badge. It's a miniature of 3,9 cm x 3.1 cm and I think it's made of brass. Indeed if it was a full size badge I would never bought it. I never encountered a half size miniature condor tank badge (or did not pay attention) until is saw this one. So could it be a original miniature pre 1945? Did half size minitures exist?

I must say you have a beautiful tank badge!

Thank you Mark for posting the photo's!

            Regards,

            Lupus

              Hi Lupus,

I have never seen a miniature Condor Legion Tank Badge, that looked like your example. The one or two (rare, I'd say) CLTB miniatures were constructed ala typical 3R style - ie - stamped, hollow back, single (spiralled) pin..... soldered directly to the badge reverse.

I'll look for an old thread where an authentic example was shown. Sorry, but I still believe yours to be a repro.

              Regards,
              Mark

                      Philippe,

I want that pin! What a spectacular piece! On the hollow/ solid note, is it fair to say that Kampfwagen Abzeichen stick pin was pre Third reich? Maybe early 20s? I wonder, were all German Imperial spins solid back? That is not an area I know anything about...

I want that pin! Die Rechnung, Bitte!

Mark where were you when it was sitting on the e-stand for days without anybody wanting it?

Well I guess I owe it to myself to add the predecessor of my beloved PAB's to my collection one day but untill the right one comes along this is all I have to play with. You really don't want to spit up a happy family now do you?

                          Philippe,

Sorry, but I wouldn't mind being a 'home wrecker' in this instance. You know you will never find the big brother. So send the little guy to the US, where he will become reunited with his real Father!

I think the small one at the top of this thread is the fake which was offered for sale by dedub67 on ebay a couple of months back.

Here's the photo from that advert.......

Here's mine, which is pretty much like Mark's, but not in such good condition.
