    Interesting IAB

    Hi Guys,

Detlev this week had an IAB that he said was marked L/10, ( I could not see it in the pic though) I have one that looks very similiar, here are some pics. Interesting pin arrangement and hook. Anybody have one of these?

    Regards,

    Anthony

          Hi Anthony,

Lovely example and oe of my absolute favorite IAB designs. Detailing is sublme and the eagle without a doubt is one of the most expressive to be found on any IAB. As far as I know the maker of these badges remains unknown.

Her is his hollow brother. Same catch and a unique hinge assembly. On yours the hinge is the type used on the zin Porsche IAB's GAB's and PAB's. On mine you will see that the hinge base is different. In fact it's a two piece construction where the hinge itself is solderd on to an oval base plate.

                          Hi Anthony

You have a very nice badge with a lovely finish

Personally, I do not see the similarity with an L/10. Maybe you were specifically referring to the hinge and catch. Detlev's picture this week is a bad one, it does not show any details.

Here are a couple of L/10 close up eagles. One is from a marked L/10 and one is from an unmarked badge.Check out the detailed talons.

                          Philippe,
Great pics and close ups, thanks

                          all the best

Actually, not a great picture at all, lets try this one of an L/10 eagle

                            cheers

                              Hi Guys,

Thanks for the input. Mine is definately not an L/10 and I guess we really don't know who made it. What do you think the metal is? I was told TOMBAC when I bought it a long time ago, but with the plate for the pin and catch probably ZINK.

I have one other that is interesting, back soon.

                              Regards,

                              Anthony
