Is this the "Ultimate Latvian War badge" Yet ?

The workmanship on this badge is phenominal. It is vaulted about 8 mm . No maker marks. Small domed rivets. Seperate No.50 plate. The detail is much better that my photos. Open for comments.

If only all fake numbered GAB's were that easy to spot. Really nothing more than a very poor attempt to copie the real thing.

              Phillippe,
You are absolutely right . With the help of this forum, I believe most who belong could make that distinction but if you were a novice collector without ever handling one and not belonging to this forum, this badge would be the " cats meow"
Also it is more detailed then an original. Each leaf has 28 lines in them, The skin above the talons is pebbled. All much sharper that original.
              Regards, Mitch

The breast feathers look funny and the pin is off.

                  Hello Mitch,

The badge might be well-detailed, but it is not even close to how a real one should look. And that amout of vault makes the badge look absolutely ridiculous.
                  Best regards! Tom

I think Mitch makes a good point - for the uninitiated out there this GAB is a beauty. Before joining this forum I might have jumped at such a piece! Once Frank's book comes out we will learn even more about the GAB.

Yes indeed! As time goes on, this hobby becomes more and more of a minefield for those new to the hobby, and to the old salts as well.
                      Best regards! Tom
