the pics are not very good ,but to me the catch looks as though it has the same finnish as the rest of the badge and the catch is wrong,also i can not see other bits that make me happy,and the metal type looks wrong in the last picture,
you really need to become a member and photograph the item properly

sorry guys, but I do not collect any german items. I have mostly civil war items. I came across this badge while moving. I was going to throw it away and while I was visiting my Mother in Acworth, GA. I showed it to: Dent Myers. He has a lot of civil war stuff and a museum of German items, Swords, clothing, guns, etc.
He told me what i had and now i am making sure before i do get rid of it.

Just in case you would like to see his site i will try and post his link. He may just have something somebody is looking for. He does not like computers so he has a lady friend answer email.
