    Army Flak Badge

    Fellow Members,

I have been offered this Army Flak Badge but somehow it's not jumping out with 'Buy Me'.

Appears to be a zink set up without the bubbling.

Have looked through Herr Niemanns book and a few others but I can't reconcile it with anything.

Let me know what you think.

    Maker appears to be 'Bremner'.

Poor photos don't inspire confidence either.

Let me know what you think.

    Regards ...

        Hello,
I am unaware of Brehmer being a maker of the Heer flak badge. I would pass on this one unless somebody else could verify that it is right.
        Best wishes,
        Curtiss

I would not buy this puppy, but that is just me.

          Hope this helps.

            Hi,

the color and finnish makes me think about Souval copys, same features often seen on Souval badges.
            Regards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

This is rather difficult as we have no other reference for a Brehmer Heeres Flak Badge.
Chris, is it possible to get a side shot of the hinge. Also the hook at an angle.

Like Hans said, its got a Souval look to the material although the badge does´nt look like a Souval itself.

Are there signs of casting anywere, what do the sides of the badge look like.

The only thing to really go on is the MM and that looks quiet presentable, however so does the stamp on the fake Brehmer Luft Flak.

I´m very sceptical but heres a comparison of MMs.

                Hi Guys,

                Thanks for all the input.

Skip, I'm going to ask the owner to courier to to me and hopefully it will be here for the weekend to take some decent photos.

                Will post more piccy's then.

It seems from the feedback that while it looks a bit dodgy it's not a known out and out fake.

                Of course this may change.

Thnaks all and watch this spot ...

                Regards ...

I do not like this badge. The features look soft. I would like to see a clearer picture of the front and a close up of the eagles as well please.

                  I once flew in a B-17, B-24, & a B-25. Next, I want to fire an 88 round.

Hi all,for what it's worth I originally owned this badge a few years ago.MikeK kindly posted pics on the badge forum for me and the general opinion was at that time that it was and I presume, still is, a fake.

The maker mark is not consistent as has already been shown and some detail
is also not consistent with known examples.

I no longer own the badge but personally I felt that in hand the weight was good(heavy) and it exibited nice detail however Brehmer is not a known manufacturer of this award so .............it had to go!

I have done a search but cannot locate the link,it is there it may just take some more digging.

I hope this is of some help, cheers Rob Miller.

                      Hi Rob,

Thanks for that - very interesting.

I will be getting the badge on Monday and I will take some photos on Tuesday if the light is OK and will post them here then.

As they say, "Watch This Space ...".

                      Regards ...

                        OK Guys,

The badge arrived this morning and I took some photos at lunch time at work.

I shall give a comment on each photo and would ask for your comments too please.

                        First Up the Obverse.

Colour looks all wrong to me and detail is poor.

                        Bad start - score 0/1.

                          And now the reverse.

The clasp has a plate for a zink set up and no bubbling is evident on any part of the badge.

                          Score so far, 0/2.

                            Makers Mark.

Poorly defined so score advances to 0/3 but I have to admit, I have very little experience on this.

                              Lets look at the hinge.

                              Is that a 1957 EK1 setup I see?

                              Score 0/4.
