    Opinions and observations requested

Firstly I am new to this forum so hello to all. There are a few names I recognise from other sites so if I am showing items they have already seen, my apologies. I have a couple of KM badges that I would like opinions on as both are unmarked, but to an untrained eye like mine they appear to be genuine. Unfortunately one has been de-throned but any advice as to authenticity or possible makers would be appreciated. I also plan on asking similar questions about an couple of EK's I have but will post them in the other forum. Many thanks for looking

    Hi Degens,

Both are genuine imo. The obverse of the Destroyer is so shiny it makes it look like it's been heavily cleaned/polished. Pity about the missing swas on the zinc Minesweeper.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

      Hi Degens,
The zinc Minesweeper looks to me like made by Adolf Scholze ("pin-catch" setup theory...). Nice badges!

Wow, now thats quick! . Dont you guys sleep?. I must admit I was'nt expecting an answer until midday GMT but I am happy with the verdict nontheless. You are right on the destroyer it has been heavily polished and very little remains of the original finish, unfortunately it came to me that way!.
The minesweeper although retaining more of the original characterisitics is missing the centrepiece. I am glad to hear both are real and even more pleased to have a possible maker. I like these, and plan on adding a few more to my collection, so I hope you are tolerant! .
        Many thanks

Doh.....Australia....for some reason I am always of the opinion forum members are either in the UK or US.

          Hi Degens,

I am with both Mike and Robert, both original. And the Minesweeper IS indeed an Adolf Scholze made badge. It is not just the pin/hinge/catch theory, these very minesweepers can actually be found bearing the AS in triangle mark.
          Cheers, Frank
