    I'm not questioning the piece,'cause I think it's OK..

Maybe the swastikas were hand finished after being stamped; that would explain the cutout sections cutting into the maker mark.

        Hi Gene

I think that is spot on, I think the swaz area was solid when the maker mark was applied.

        Best,
        Joe

PS I also like the posted example.

That 's' in 'SW' looks very round to be the normal Juncker mark. Wouldn't mind to see a close-up to see for sure.

            Hi Rich,

Ditto to that. I had the same reaction when first viewing the image. Atypical "chunky" hinge as well.

The badge is on Detlev's update this week.
The picture is the actual one,so,no close-ups.

I agree with you guys on the hand finishing after putting the mm on,I see no other reason..

                Hi Guys,

I also noticed the mark but thought it was acceptable on certain earlier badges from Juncker like their flak badges In reference to the hinge, well it is chunkey as Mike says, but given the overall appearence and character of the badge ( base medal, finish, wear etc... I still like it.......and looks good to me.

                Best,
                Joe
