    award cases and paper Packets

    Hello,

We al know the award cases that where rendered along with the award ( in most cases ) but how many of us have the titled paper packets for awards as the Infantry Assault Badge, Panzer Assault Badge, etc...

According to Forman's Guide these should exist for many awards ( see the exaples above )
These award paper packets are quite scarce today in my opinion.

Iff anyone has these please show them ( front and reverse )

    FRiendly Greetings,

    Here are a few.
Anyone notice a spelling mistake anywhere ?

There is a fake in there. The faded EK2 Baggie, I have seen them sold by the pile and they are B.A.D.

The middle envelope that says "Schwerter" instead of "Schwertern"?

Sorry my mistake, no spelling error..
"Mit" plus 3rd case "Ohne" plus 4th.

I have only ever had one Baggie for a Panzer badge, unfortunately long gone.

Not a IAB or Panzer badge, but did Oberhoff & Cie. make unmarked, magnetic black wound badges?

Also, the paper envelope it came in: the script on the front "A b z e i ch e n"
The "ch" in "Abzeichen" and in "schwartz" are touching each other, but the rest are separate and evenly spaced. Is this right?

Can't scan. Computer had a breakdown over holidays. Thanks!

                  Hello,

I finally managed to scan this little " Infantry Assault badge " paper packet .

It is the same size as the more common Iron cross 2 nd class paper packets ( 10.4 cm width by 12.9 cm high ) and the same blue colour.

                  On the reverse it is maker marked : " G.Ferd.Wiedmann / FRankfurt a.M - S.10 "

Inside was stil the Infantry assault badge ' a silver one )=> hollow type ( i wil post it later on when i can get my hands on a digital camera )

My question regarding these => as noticed the title only says " Infanterie - Sturmabzeichen " , is it possible that also the Bronze version was presented in these paper packets ?

Are there more of these infantry or panzer assault paper packets out there ?

                  Friendly Greetings,

                    To Steve from Florida,

The firm of Overhoff & Cie of Ludenscheid, #81 when marked, produced black wound badges during the war.

Thanks for the information, Chris. From your response, I take it that not all wound badges manufactured by Overhoff & Cie. were marked? I've looked for a marking everywhere and can't find one. The badge is minty and super crisp and detailed. The paper packet seems to have protected it over the years. It's my only one, so I hope it's good.

                            Hi Steve,

The Black WB's from this maker the makers mark is on the back and left side of the helmet and marked in relief.
Also it is not uncommon without the makers mark on them.
The hinge and the catch are part of the badge
(integral) and not separate applied on the badge.
This is on badges that i have seen so far(marked)and i don't know if there are other
                            types of construction.
If you can post or send me pic's of your badge it would be better.

                              Hello,

Here are some pictures out of Alan's collection, the first is the paper packet for a JFS maker marked Infantry assault badge ( bronze grade )=> the paper packet is also maker marked on the reverse and bears the right designation on the front.

The other is a carton made ( red ouside ) box with the infantry assault badge inside => note there is no designation on the box so this could be used for deifferent kind of awards ( for example : INfantry assault badge, panzer assault badge, etc... )

Anyone has others to share ?

                              Frienldy Greetings,
