    Hi Scott,

Here is a thread that discusses the Uboat badge made by this maker.

The part that stikes me wrong is the maker mark... It does not seem to match up with originals found on the forum.

    I hope this helps

      Hello Scott,

While your badge does look okay in some respects, I must agree with Paul and say that your badge is most likely a fake. Good quality fakes of this badge have been surfacing recently. I believe they are high-tech castings that look close to the originals, but not quite close enough. I definitely do not like the maker mark on your badge. Also the eagle's head looks different, the dimples in the crossed ribbons at the bottom of the wreath are too distinct, and the general outlines of the badge do not look quite right. Looking at the reverse of your badge, it appears that there are some pock marks along the top of the eagle's right wing. From the photos, the base material does not look like zinc to me.
Here is a f.o. U-boat Badge from my collection. I'm sure that this one is original, but any opinions are always welcome. This badge is 48.79mm wide x 39.80mm high, and it weighs 20.6 grams. I would be curious about the weight and dimensions of your badge, so please post them if you can.
      Best regards! Tom

it is a fake. I have posted pictures of it at the fakes galery: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=102002
