It sure looks like an FLL to me. The same idiot that stamped the 43 into my IAB may be responsible for this example. A major cause of concern for me is the pitting on the reverse. Anyone?

        Hi Chet,

It's an FLL design but it's not an original FLL. Is it an original PAB? Most likely not and my best guess would be that all badges with this 43 mm are fantasy items.

Here is another late war FLL. It may be later than Philippe's as the catch is where it should have been all along.

              Hi Chet,

Is that FLL 43 mark incised or raised (in relief)?

              Thanks,
              Greg

                Greg,
It is incised. This fact also leads me to belive that this type was approaching the end of the line.

                  Hi guys......

......I'm a little confused about this '43' mm, for the following reasons. Will someone explain what definition/classification of this mm we're getting at:
                  • The same idiot that stamped the 43 into my IAB may be responsible for this example.
                  • Most likely not and my best guess would be that all badges with this 43 mm are fantasy items.
OK......so, are any/all of these badges with a '43' mm, either raised or incuse, considered as FAKE, or do we have exceptions here.

So far I'm of the opinion, that at this point, it would just be safer to stay away from all badges with this mark.

Thanks, and I hope this doesn't seem too ignorant, or out of place.
