A.S. maker mark with ball hinge. Are we sure this one is by the same maker?

Say Don, is 32 the reverse of 30?

The one in post 30 has a plated obverse finish and as such the correct grass area for this type of badge. untill now Skip's silver badge seems to be the only exception.

So if there are more silver AS in triangle PAB's out there please post them.

I have noticed the flat vs. complete ball hinges before. Will have several to post when I get away from this dreadful place (work!) and get home to my files.

On the left a A.S. marked example, on the right an AS triangle with "more grass" and "more scooped out" back - both the ball hinges are flattened.

(Now - should I open up the can of worms of "is this the same maker, just slightly different dies?" We've gone through this before, with no real conclusions that I recall. Very similar designs. They share a number of design similarities with R.K. PABs as well, including the usual height of c. 62mm.)

Philippe, you need to add your hollow A.S. and .A.S badges to round this discussion out.
