    Red line ring

    Hello guys,
    I don't know if this item is right for this room but I didn't find any other useful.
    Please, does anyone have some information about this ring (s)?

    there trench art. made by the guy himself .i have come across a lot of these made from aluminum there's one on eBay but missing the pics

      Thanks a lot Jim. Did you know why the soldier has decorated the ring with a red line? It's possible he was been wounded?

        here's the one on eBay.and he only wants a cool 85 dollars with no pic for it.the line is red? french?

          If it were an American or English soldier in the picture, it might refer to ‘The Thin Red Line,’ a thin line of soldiers who hold out against a huge number of attackers.
          Guadalcanal and Bastogne had some like that.

            These were usually made from airplane crash sites. Plenty of material.
            As aluminum was for use by the war effort these rings were from airplane parts and the red and greens etc. you see were from knobs, gauges, toggle swt.
            There are other ways I'm sure to make these rings but this was one of them..
