    Hi
I had put this in my fake pile, but looking at several sites, I now have my doubts, could you help me validate?

Looks ok to me, original F&R but heavily polished up with no finish left. The catch is replaced as well.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I agree with Tom here. Heavy worn and cleaned badge. The inside of the wing still shows the remains of the silver cleaner they used on it... probably taking away all its original finsh.

Interested to see the catch in profile.
        Kind regards,
        Giel

A good cleaned F&R like mentioned. But what is quite interesting is that this catch is a match with the Wiedmann setup, a company that was located close by.

Something to look into, all though I do not like the overall appearance with the cleaned look. Doesn`t favor the idea of a good catch.

Hast been the first time we have seen a new catch variant from F&R this week....

              Best regards,
              Job

Its indeed a fake. Some different photos were posted somewhere else of the same badge.
Its the Staegemeir fake with flaws at the bottom of the Bayonet grip and grenade head.
