    SOS Pickups - GABs

    Hi guys,

Just back from probably one of the best SOS shows I've been to in years. Was able to pick up several nice GABs at very reasonable prices.

The first one is a nice solid-backed mid-war Deumer with soldered on hardware. I already have this variant, however the condition was really nice with 99% of its original silver finish remaing with just a few age spots on the reverse. The pin is a little rusty, but all hardware intact and functioning. Just a nicely detailed Deumer and don't minding having an extra one of these.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Second one up is an absolutely pristine unmarked Biedermann. Very late war example, with separately soldered on hinge and catch. Apparently the hinge crimping tool they were using started to malfunction toward the end of the war necessatating them to grind off the integral crimps for the hinge and simply solder on the hinge on top of these marks. Very common to find on this last variant by Biedermann. Finish is very well preserved for such a late war variant and was clearly not worn, either coming out of a factory or awarded and put away in a drawer by the recipient.

I have the previous variant with crimped in hinge, so its always nice to have its later-war brethren back together.

Last but not least is a Friedrich Orth. Nice condition with almost all its original silver plating still intact and nicely marked on the reverse in typical raised lettering. Hardware is also fully intact, including the form-fitting hinge that fits perfectl in the curved recess on the reverse. Another variant I had been missing so nice to finally fill that gap in the GAB collection.

Hope you guys like em as much as I do.

Very nice stuff Tom. Note the rather sloppy excess material around the head of the Biedermann.

The condition of all these badges is just stunning.
All in crisp detail with much finish remaining.
                  Well done Tom!

                    Hi Tom,

Nice finds in very good condition. I really like the FO badges, the Vienna design is just very good looking imo.
Big congrats on adding these nice pieces to the ever growing collection.

                    Best regards, Job
