Its a bit shiny from a little vasaline, there is a little zinc pest on the bottom left side of the wreath.

      Hi Van

Pics are better and in focus, showing a nice bronze colour

You did the right thing by adding vaseline

      regards

I am glad I found this one, I tend to lean towards awards in bronze over silver.
I think they "POP", Stand out more than silver... lol

              Question????
With the known maker mark and pattern of the IAB, can we pin point the year of manufacture of this badge ?????? Thanks for any helpful input.....

                Hi Van,

Great score, nice looking MK in great shape. Lovely bronze finish on this one and I completely agree with you, the bronze example tend to look a little better especially after a little Vaseline bath. Production timeframe is likely 1942-1945, hard to pinpoint more than that I think. Even late war, Gablonz makers still have high quality standards which we know from their CCC production.

Interestingly enough, I just picked up a nice MK IAB at the SOS and will post it when I get back home.

Here’s a thread from a while back talking about this maker - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...light=Triangle.

The exact maker for this remains a mystery as far as I know.

Hi Van, here is my MK in Triangle from the SOS as promised. Really love the detail of the obverse design and the finish is always nice on these, great combination of high quality thick finish and highly refined fine-zink; common with Gablonz-based makers.
