25 Grade PAB Unmarked Opinions Please

    Hello,

I would really appreciate all opinions on this badge. It was presented to me for sale as veteran acquired piece. I look forward to hearing opinions.

    Regards,

Pictures taken in not the best lighting, or corrected in photoshop. But IMO this is original unmarked JFS badge

An original for me as well, but with a very weird look, like its been heavily polished up or weird lighting and pics.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

AN original unmarked JFS PAB but one that has been cleaned, IMO.

Original badge for me, from these images, which don't show everything I like to see. Almost looks like it was polished with a buffing wheel on a grinder.

This badge looks like it was an attic find or maybe even ground dug that has been pitted by decay. It was then heavily cleaned to make it look better.

I wouldn't pay much for it.

                Hello,

Here are some additional photos of the badge. Let me know what else might be needed. Just want to confirm finish appears removed.

                Regards,

the detail on them is still superb. in my opinion, even with the cleaning.

I would advise you to give it a vaseline treatment to avoid zinkpest, then keep it out of light but exposed to air (i.e., not in a bag or riker mount). Hopefully over time it will begin to get some patina back on it. I've done this with a nickel silver badge I polished when I first started collecting and it took years to get it back. Not sure how it will do with a zinc badge like this but worth a try.
