    Gold CCC Opinions please

    Hi All,
Have researched on forums etc. and think this is OK, but would be grateful for any opinions. Not a lot of finish to the front of badge left, but seems to be gold.
The back of the badge has more gold finish. The pin seems to be brass and centre backing plate is non magnetic, badge is slightly concave.
This has been offered to me for $360, do you consider this a reasonable price in this condition.

          Hi Mike,

The clasp certainly appears genuine but be careful with the finish. I once owned a bronze Juncker and, where the zinc was slightly oxidised, the finish HAD TURNED GOLD. I've seen this effect, with less dramatic oxidisation and a more even subdued golden hue, on one other Juncker Bronze CCC. $360 is not a bad price for a CCC these days, regardless of grade, so it would certainly be worth the risk of getting a gold for a bronzish grade price.

            Hello Mike,

I'm with Mike K. on this badge. I think the badge may be an original Bronze, but someone decided to 'splash' some gold paint on it. From the gold CCCs I've seen, there was a certain tone to the gold finish. The gold remnants were 'thinner' looking than on your badge. The gilting on your badge looks manmade. The gold is in splotches, and it is 'thick'. The remaining gilting should be thinner, since all the rest of the gold has 'faded'.

It just doesn't look like original gilting. .......

            Regards,
            Mark
