    Hello surge5,

You suspicion is correct. That document is not original. The Reich Chancellery seal at the lower left should be embossed and not printed on the document. Also from the pictures posted, it looks like the overall document size is not correct. The printed text on the document looks to be the correct style and arrangement, so that was probably copied off a real document. The typed recipient information looks suspicious too. Never seen that done in red ink before. I also think the paper is totally wrong. The originals were done on a heavy, thick parchment that will yellow with age but not to the degree that yours has yellowed. From the pictures posted, your paper looks to be a thin, cheap quality grade of paper that discolors rapidly. Definitely not a real document.
    Best regards! Tom

Also, I forgot to mention, that the word "en" before "Paris" is not proper German as far as I know.

The postage stamps were not issued until 1941 !!

              Hi Surge

I think this doc seems ok - would like to handle it though. I'm not sure wether different paperquality, lack of embossed mark and pressence of red typewriting is proof of it being fake. Actually I like the red typewriting (why should the fakers do something this unnormal), the stamps - that has put on top of the eagle - maybe to cover the svastica (post may ) 1945?, the yellowing - you can see it has had a letter or someting laying over it. I have a hard time belliewing this is a copy - all that work to earn 80-100 bucks - don't think so.

You are very welcome to send it to me so I can have a closer look - this would also be in the forums interest - but its entierly up to you. Personnaly I would not pay more than 30-40 Euro for this doc.

              Just my 5. cents.

              Cheers Thomas Bendixen

Just tried to make a search for "Unferdorffer" and no hits at all - did the fammilyname die out or has it never excisted?

                Cheers Thomas

                  Thanks

I thank all of you for your help. I took the document to Wilhelm Gehlen. Yes the nephew of General Reinhardt Gehlen and he said the document was OK. I have several other documents that I will try to post. Its nice to have a Forum like this to get good info.

I Dont wish to appear rude, but how is that proof?. There are still way to many inconsitancies with this doc. but still $100.00 is a lot of money to to spend even on an original doc without any proof of originality,.. Do you possess a black light?. It not 100% proof but it goes a long way. Lets see what else you have

                    Oh well Good Luck

If this document is genuine, then the top half an inch has been cut off and the embossed stamp has been coloured in by hand. The going rate for a document in good condition is only about US$40. I have difficulty believing that one sold for US$1500.00, even on E-Bay.

Surge5 is the seller, by the way, not a potential buyer.

                            Hello to all,
Well, this document that supposedly sold for over $1,500. on ebay certainly looks to be genuine, but it is not worth anywhere near that selling price. The seller also did not represent the item properly. In the first place, that document is for the Mother Cross in bronze, not gold as the seller made it out to be. But more importantly, neither the signature of Hitler, nor Meissner, are original signatures. They are printed facsimiles. Hitler and Meissner did not personally sign these types of documents. Original Mother Cross Documents are fairly common in all three grades. Even the documents for the Gold Mother Cross usually sell for less than $100. That is, unless the document belonged to some well known personality such as Magda Goebbels.
                            Best regards! Tom
