Nick,
I have seen these before; I believe it is a counterfeit of the medal in the attached images. I snagged the images off the 'net.
Notice first the boogered up signature of the sculptor below the neck.
The rest of the poor details then follow throughout.
Perhaps another subforum would generate more opinions.

Any number of fake versions of this one about.

I have even seen a gold plated version. Sure sign of a fake is the rimmed edge.

Orginals sell for some 80$ and that is mostly because they are made of silver.

Thanks you both very much. You're right there is a pretty bad fake. After comparing it with the original, many poorly made details appeared.
