    ribbon bar question....

I saw a 4 palce ribbon bar which had a small tank on one of the ribbons.
The ribbon was white with tho narrow black stripes on either side.
I do have a picture but it's a blow-up from a stmap size blurry pic....

I did a search already, but couldn't find anything about it, and I don't think I have ever seen something like it before.

Could it be authentic, or is it a fantasy piece?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Maybe its a tank destruction badge on a 57 ribbon bar

still not the best quality I´m afraid....

It reminds me of a tank destruction strip, but were they worn on a ribbon bar???

I have never seen them on a wartime ribbon bar. There was no need as the badge was worn on the sleeve

          Chris, it confuses me too...

Never seen anything like it before, so it may well be a fantasy piece.

On the other hand, pherhaps it is a ´57 bar, like you suggested..

            Hello ,

Yes this is a 1957 bar with the tank destruction strip in silver at the end .

i have to add, that its not the normal 57er style!

if you compare this ribbonbar (war style) with 57er bars, you'll see, that the 57er bars have larger ribbons and look totally different!

                are these wartime ribbons?

It looks like someone used wartime ribbons to make a 57 ribbonbar.

The ribbons are a slightly different size to 57 ones yes , but you often find wartime ribbon bars that have been " adjusted " post war .

This is probably a wartime bar that someone has added a 57 tds onto the end .

Here is another bar that as been altered :

It MIGHT be a very early Bundeswehr bar. In the early postwar days, some wore the narrow ribbon style bars. Daniel has several examples.
However, I don't really like the combination, as ALL badges were worn on the postwar bars. Thus: EK2, KVK2, East Medal, a tank destruction badge, but no qualification badge like IAB or GAB? So at best, a selfmade bar, I would think.

                      Regards
                      Chris

I was thinking of this example from Daniel:

Rick, speaking of 1914-18 bars in 57 style, what do you think of this? Maybe a fake?

Shouldn't the Bundeswehr decoration at the end there be higher up in the precedence?
