    Wehrmacht-Dienstauszeichnung 1. Klasse - once more

    Hi All

I read with pleasure this thread:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru....php?t=1009519

and would like to show another Long Service Cross 1st Class.

I know, that the open wreath is suspicious (although here the sprongs are blunt), but what do you mean about the cross itself? My doubts concern on the relatively thin loop. However the ribbon and small eagle look good.

    regards
    Tomasz

For starters the wreath looks cast.

Detail missing, casting marks to the wreath.

Thank you. Yes, I also don't like the wreath.

But what about the cross itself?

The eagle looks like a Souval

          Souval probably.

I would guess this cross is non magnetic because of the size of the jump ring?

Although RonR shows a similar cross to this in the previous thread with a good wreath.

Stippling on the cross is pretty sparse compared to other originals.

Can you provide a photo of the inner cross arms?

Yes, is not magnetic. Possibly bronze or brass.

At the moment I can make scans only. They are not the best pictures

              Inner arms look fine.

Could use some more comments on the cross.

It is nicely burnished. I do not remember if Souval burnished his crossess.

Looks to be a Souval to me as well. Albeit with a very nice finish as opposed to the typically encountered examples by this maker.
