Sadly your example is not original, please see this thread for close up photos, weights and dimensions of real ones … http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=995538

(I will post the images here on Monday if wanted ?)

      Cheers, Ian.

Notice the missing upstroke at the end of the 'N' in Löschwesen.

            As promised ..

Both Gold and Silver crosses are 43.5mm wide and 47.5mm from the top of the ball suspension ring to the base.

The Gold cross weighs 14.99g while the Silver cross weighs 14.62g

              Hi Ian

When/why was it proved that the type with the "missing upstroke at the end of the 'N' in Löschwesen" are fake?

Hi Thomas, it has always been said to my knowledge that missing parts of the letter N, missing umlauts and the missing dash were signs of reproduction medals ... unless you are saying different ?

Is the photograph angled to hide the upstroke ?

                Ian.
