    Anti-Partisan badge (take II)

I posted this Anti-Partisan badge or BandenKampfabzeichen back in 2005 in the year I joined this forum. Back then I was pretty clueless on posting images so the ones that went up here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...40649#poststop were so small you practically needed the NRO to analyze the photos. Figured, maybe, I might take another shot at sharing photos of this badge where, I think, I’m a little better at putting a reasonably sized image up without embarrassing myself. Perhaps with better images more insight, into this odd-ball, might be forthcoming. Obviously, this is odd (a simply ‘rare’ depending on your view) due to the number ‘1’ stamped on the reverse.

Antonio - To what extent is your judgment based on the presence of the "1"?

              It’s a poor quality fake,
Interesting to have the 1 stamped on it , but still totally fake

              Kind regards Chay

                Thank you both.

I don't collect these badges, but here are some old, and unfortunately incomplete, photos of one from a vet over 40 years ago. It does not appear to be cast and has signs of "grinding" as mentioned in Antonio's book. The "1" is stamped and appears to be stylistically different from the one here.

Leroy, too bad this is a well known fake, exactly the same type of the first showed in this thread. And it is a cast fake.
Just look for example at the flaw on the left side of the catch.
Some of these badges were also recently showed and discussed hare on WAF.

And to be honest I highly doubt it is 40 years old.
On the APB book, in the fake chapter, there is this type of badge showed and explained.

                  My books:

                    And again an easy fake!
Fascinating why the one number keeps appearing ? But there is no chance of originality!
Base metal wrong with soft details it’s not close to an original

                    Kind regards Chay

Antonio- I first mentioned this badge on this forum in 2005. At that time, I had already had it for 30 years (and said so at the time). You are incorrect.

I don't know if the "1" has anything to do with Deschler and that is just pure speculation. It could be anything.

The base metal colour is very clearly visible, no badge has that colour metal and it is not zinc!
It’s interest how long you say you have had it , I wonder about those 1,s but not in a good way !

                          Kind regards Chay

Upbeek - It is not how long I say I have had it, it is how long I have
                            had it.

I don't worry about this badge. I don't collect them and am quite sure it didn't cost much at the time, so it is no great impact to me one way or the other. I am not a dealer. I showed it out of curiosity. If it is a fake, then it is older than apparently some people think. That's on them, not me..........

Just to clarify, 40 years old is circa 1980. There were many excellent fakes made before that time including a lot of numbered badges that are found to this day in many old collections.
                              Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.
