    Grubby Medals

    Hi guys,

I picked up a few medals from a recent auction. Nothing out of the ordinary and kind of grubby, condition-wise. I still think they look pretty good, though. I enjoy common items like these as much as the rarities.

    Best regards,
    Tom

Fine awards Tom and nothing 'grubby' about any of them (especially the Type 1 Afrika Feldzug)

Look good to me, Tom, especially the Afrika medal. Been looking for one with an original safety pinned ribbon like that for quite a while now (hint, hint).

              Nice

Odd to see you deviating from near-mint; but nice regardless. Neat items!

I've seen them a lot grubbier than these.

                Not grubby at all.

Its nice to own mint examples Tom but I quite like the look of issued/worn medals-they tend to have much more character.

                        Hi Dale,

I actually have several with pin-mounted ribbons, although I am not ready to part with any of them yet. (greedy) Here is one in a bit nicer condition:

                          Hi Sturmbannführer Erich Kämpffer,

Actually not odd at all. A large part of my collection is items showing a lot of wear and use. I like worn items every bit as much as items in near mint condition. The only thing I really care about is that an item be original.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom

                            Thanks, Troy. I quite agree.

Tom, now you're just torturing me! No problem, I long ago learned that with patience I'll eventually find what I'm looking for.
